The Filtrete™ Professional Faucet Water Filter is a chemical and mechanical reduction filter that reduces sediment, including sand, silt, particulates and rust. it also reduces chlorine taste and odor, and parasitic cysts. The system is tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of chlorine taste and odor and NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of cysts. This is my second water filter and I chose this one because it was cheaper than the GE model I have in our kitchen.
Installation was easy and the push fittings only leaked a little because i cut the tubing badly. Once it was cut properly it does not leak.
The water tastes great (the same as the GE filter we have), flow rate is reduced somewhat but it is sufficent.

This is only water filtration system I have ever bought (except for a Brita pitcher). Our tap water tasted weird so I installed this under the kitchen sink. I think it tastes indistinguishable from bottled water. Also makes foods (soups, pastas) taste a lot better. Cheap, easy to install (had a buddy with some experience put it in in about 15 minutes). I liked it so much I got one for my mom's house so I wouldn't have to drink their crap water when I went over.

We've been using this filter system for over two years with absolutely no leaks in the fittings and excellent water flow whether using the standard filter or the pro model. Would definitely recommend for any DIY'er, or even those first time installers.

These are really easy to install. Had our plumber do the first one and we did the other two. So glad to get the PUR off the faucet!
